This collection consists of two items that pertaining to the increasingly rapid growth of the Orlando metropolitan area through the 1950s and 1960s, with emphasis on how to effectively adapt to this growth and plan for the future.
The first item is a binder titled "Growth and Development Guide" and was produced by the Orange-Seminole-Osceola Planning Commission, February 1970.
The other item is an oversized spiral-bound engineering design report for the Orlando-Winter Park Expressway (future I-4). It was produced by consulting engineers Howard, Needles, Tammen & Bergendoff. The report was produced in June 1957 and submitted to the State Road Department of Florida. The purpose of this report was to provide a "preliminary design of the Interstate Highway through the Orlando-Winter Park metropolitan area".
