Navy Scrapbook (12" X 12") of Aubrey Sheldon Flynn and a folder of documents regarding his sons' service in the military.
This scrapbook contains pictures, notes, letters, and official documentation (photocopied) from his service in the Navy during World War II when he was stationed in Balboa, Panama, as a cook. Scrapbook contains: 8x10 picture of Aubrey inside front cover decorated with Navy-themed stickers, a photocopy of his boot camp in Norfolk, VA, 2 pictures from the Coca Sola camp in Balboa where he was stationed, an assortment of identity cards from the navy and a medical review, a certificate from Cooks' and Bakers' School in Corpus Christi, Texas, certificate of honorable discharge, photos from his family, war ration book with few remaining stamps, sample menus, an assortment of comics and newsclippings, photocopied marriage license, postcards and greeting cards, commemorative items / membership cards from the Orlando Colonialtown Lions Club, the Knights of Pythias (Moose Chapter), the Florida State Genealogical Society, and short biographies of Aubrey Sheldon Flynn and his wife Juanita Opal Tillis Flynn.
Also included with this collection is a folder of documents pertaining to the military service of his sons, David Sheldon Flynn, and Thomas J. Flynn.
For David Sheldon Flynn there are two documents: a letter to Audrey and Juanita from the headquarters at Lackland Military Training Center welcoming their son to the Air Force Base there and an envelope made from notepaper from David Flynn while stationed in Biloxi addressed to his father in Orlando.
For Thomas J. Flynn there are two items: a certificate dated 4 February 1968 certifying his service as part of the Protestant Chapel Choir at the US Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, South Carolina, the Thanksgiving Day menu for the Force Logistic Command, Republic of Vietnam, 1968 with a handwritten note in the bottom margin.
There is an additional program for the Baccalaureate and Commencement of Cumberland College in Williamsburg, KY dated May 1983, but it is unknown at this time how this program is related.
